Wordpress 2.6.1 Now Available
Barely after a month since I have posted that Wordpress 2.6 was available, Wordpress 2.6.1 has just been recently released. This time, over 60 bugs were fixed (I’ve counted the bugs, and as of this writing, there were 62 different bugs across different Wordpress versions that were fixed).

Intel’s New Remote Wake Up Motherboards
Beginning next month, you’ll be able to purchase Intel motherboards for your PC that you can put to sleep, then remotely wake up to full power by calling it, thereby saving power as opposed to leaving it on and waiting for something to trigger it.

Never Miss A New Email With The Physical Gmail Notifier
I was searching for a way to modify the Gmail Notifier code to suit my needs, and my search has brought me over to Jamie Matthew’s site wherein he really re-engineered the Gmail notifier. Instead of the usual desktop application that watches over your Gmail account for new activity, his invention literally flashes a cube-like device to alert you that a new mail has arrived.

I’m Starting To Like Windows Vista!
Windows XP was serving my computing needs fairly well and I have no complaints regarding it’s performance. Even with the availability of Windows Vista, Windows XP remains the standard Operating System being used in our corporate machines (even for newly rolled-out Dell computers). But one unfortunate incident happened to my home computer. It suddenly died on me. I have no choice but to buy a new set of motherboard, processor and memory. Basically, everything in my home PC was replaced.

New Trojan Spreads Via MP3 and Multimedia Files
In a recent report of ITWire, MP3s and multimedia files such as WMV can now be embedded with a trojan. The sneaky part is, those infected MP3s continue to play normally, but would require a certain “codec” to be downloaded in order to play. But instead of getting a codec, the link goes to install malware in your computer.

Gmail Remote Sign Out Review
I’ve just recently published about Gmail’s new Remote Sign Out feature and since then, I have patiently waited for Google to update the servers where my Gmail account is connected. This morning, when I logged into my Gmail account, I have seen the update and here’s my review.

Gmail Security Upgrade: Find Out If Your Account Is Open Somewhere
Gmail is in the process of upgrading its security by providing an additional dashboard which contains the IP address, last login time and whether the access was on a PC browser, Mobile or POP3 account.
I have just tried this feature but it seems that the Gmail server that we are connecting into isn’t upgraded yet. Nevertheless, this is a very useful plugin for those who constantly forget to log-out their Gmail account.
