Globe Telecoms Will Sell Iphone 3G For P48,899!!
Globe Telecoms has just released their Iphone 3G pricing scheme for both post and prepaid subscribers and all I can say is, I’m totally speechless. My goodness, Php41,889 for the 8GB version and Php48,899 for the 16GB version! This is approximately 1,245 US Dollars in value, way beyond what Apple has announced.
Here’s the Iphone pricing scheme for your convenience:
(1 U.S. dollar = 39.2742126 Philippine pesos)
The Good news: You’ll be among the first to own this device here in the Philippines.
The Bad news: It’s so darn expensive!
My verdict? The price isn’t worth it. Better wait a little while, spend your hard earned money for something else, or if you really feel the crave for an Iphone 3G, just source it in other places. I wonder what the execs at Globe were thinking.

The $299 in the states is the unit price if you get it via the AT&T plan. (in Globe’s case, that’s the P16.8K for plan 1599 etc).
If you compute AT&T’s offer against Globe, it’s actually quite the comparable.
At least here in the Philippines we can buy prepaid kits.
