Experience Windows Vista Business Edition without installing it

January 31, 2007 · Filed Under Technology, Web, Windows Vista

With the official release of Windows Vista just a few hours away, many computer users are sure to be asking what’s the look and feel of the new operating system from Microsoft.

Now, you can experience the new operating system without the need to install it simply by visiting http://windowsvistatestdrive.com. Powered by Microsoft Virtual Labs, the site takes you off for a Vista spin before you even attempt to install Vista on your computer.

The site is cool, but there are limitations. First, you’ve got to be running IE6 or higher (sorry Firefox guys) and second, you must be in their “service area”. It is unfortunate that my location in the Philippines is not covered by their geographical range (I can, however, tweak my proxy server settings to virtually appear in a location that is covered, but it’s too much much of a hassle).
