For GSM cellular users in the Philippines, Globe Telecoms is now offering the MyGlobe Tracker wherein you could locate someone (provided they have given you permission to locate them).

Here is a series of SMS messages I got from Globe Telecoms:

FREE TRACKER ADVISORY: myGlobe tracker is now made simple with easy to remember keywords and a new access code, 7000. Start using it now! For details, text TRACKER to 7000 for FREE.

After sending “TRACKER” to 7000, here is the response:

myGlobe Tracker: Welcome! Now you can easily locate family, friends and establishments. You can also find places where you can avail of great discount deals. Reply with the no. of your chosen topic. Text to 7000 for FREE. Ex. 1
 Topics:
 1.for People Locator
 2.for Establishment finder
 3.for Discount finder

After sending “1″ to 7000, here is the reply:

myGlobe Tracker: Locate your loved ones and friends now! Just text FIND , to 7000. P5/location alert. Reply with the no. of your chosen topic. Text to 7000 for FREE while item #3 is charged P2.50/text. Ex. 1
 1.Locate people
 2.Scheduled location alerts
 3.Emergency locator feature
 4.PIN/Security feature
 5.Edit your account
 By registering, you’re accepting d myGlobe Tracker terms & conditions of use found in www.myglobe.com.ph.

After sending the keyword “FIND” to 7000, here is the reply:

myGlobe Tracker: You may locate a person/s and get a reply in text or a map of his location. You may also locate establishments nearest you. For more info, reply with the no. of the topic below:
 1.Get location in text of one or more person/s
 2.Get map of location of one or more person/s
 3.Get location of establishments. For FREE Tracker info, text HELP to 7000.

I have yet to find the accuracy of the service since I find the messages above to be confusing. So, be sure to be back for updates, or better yet, post your findings about Myglobe Tracker here.

    how do u track a person having an iphone as his cellphone, coz every time I try to track him, the respone is ‘sorry sheila can’t be locate…’ how come? coz my friend said that iphone users can’t be tracked.. need advise.. tnx

    hi, i tried to find a person’s location through the command ,map to 7000. I only recieve notification saying” Thank you for requesting the mms location of , but I did not recieve any MMS. I tried it a lot of times but of no avail. my unit is Nokia n81 8gb. thanks . .

    Sometimes the globe person finder may not work if the person you are tracking has a very low signal or no signal at all. Same thing goes if his/her phone is turned off. Just so you won’t end up loosing your load, try to do a miss call first, if it rings, then, there’s a greater chance that you’ll be able to track that person. Regarding MMS results for tracking, make sure that you can send/receive MMS normally. To do this, try sending an MMS to your own phone. Hope these few things help you guys. PS >> Sometimes, person finder is not 100% accurate.
