It was a good thing I didn’t wrote about how to download Youtube videos

November 16, 2006 · Filed Under Technology

We all know that the videos uploaded into Youtube are in the flash (flv) format, and it is relatively very easy to copy those videos into your computer without using any type of software.

I have been planning of making a tutorial on how to do this, but I thought that the sheer simpleness of the process might force some readers to call it lame.

Several weeks have passed and I soon forgot to write about how to download Youtube videos easily into your PC, and I’m glad I didn’t, because an article from Techcrunch has been posted that Youtube sent them a Ceast and Desist order for ” creating a small tool that lets people download YouTube videos to their hard drives”, as quoted from the site.

Never did I thought that writing such tutorial would bring trouble. In fact, I have even seen other sites with much detailed instructions on how to download Youtube videos. I wonder if Youtube will notify them as well.
