SEO Jobs becoming available in the Philippines
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is now part of of the Philippine web scene.
This morning, I have queried online jobsites Jobstreet and Jobsdb to check on available jobs for SEO. Among the search results, one particular job post caught my attention. Listed below are the requirements:
Requirements:
With at least two years experience in:
Test and analysis of keywords, title and description copy
Research and evaluate competitors paid search marketing efforts and identify new search opportunities.
Find solutions to increase free trafic to site through optimization of Web site pages
Search engine and directory submissions
Strategic link building development
SEO research and development
Implement on-page optimization techniques to all pages of the sites.
Knowledge of web development tools
College degree, preferably a graduate of computer-related courses
Can work under tight schedules and with minimal supervision
Excellent team player
Good communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
Good moral character
Based from the description, it shows that the company in need of such SEO is aware of what a good candidate must have in order to effectively carry out the task, although in my opinion, a SEO job doesn’t necessarily need a college degree.
If I would be looking for a good SEO, aside from the requirements above, I would be needing someone who has the following qualifications:
Provide links to active websites that was previously optimized.
High PR (page rank) rating for such site.
Knowledgeable in PHP scripting.
Advanced HTML and CSS experience.
Able to provide good article submission.
Good knowledge of PPC campaigns.
This brings me to a very important point. If you have such qualifications, would you still work for someone or just be independent and make a good living out of it?

Say What's On Your Mind Now!

i saw the job ad too.
The seo industry has continously heading towards the success and the most important thing is that the seo industry is playing a very crucial role in the upliftment of the phillipines economy.
They can keep those requirements for themselves,i am not going to apply to be their SEO, if i have all that skills i would work for my own, i will not work for any company, because i know how things are done, i have all the skills needed for me to succeed online, i would prefer doing SEO for myself rather than doing SEO for somebody who is very demanding.
I know this stuff already.
Provide links to active websites that was previously optimized.
High PR (page rank) rating for such site.
Knowledgeable in PHP scripting.
Advanced HTML and CSS experience.
Able to provide good article submission.
But i am still studying PPC a little bit.
Hi, guys!
I want to make a gift to my boyfriend. Something special
. I just want to say a few words about my boyfriend. He is my soulmate and i love him. He’s Welsh but without a Welsh accent. Just a northern twang. This is something which troubles him from time to time. He likes talking to himself.
He also likes dogs and knowing every lyric to every Beatles’ song ever. I decided, stupidly, to challenge him on that last point. We were sat at a studenty cafe with rainbow coloured chairs drinking mint tea one afternoon. I picked what I thought was a less-well-known Beatles song and got him to tell me the lyrics. Honey Pie (my favourite), Blackbird, Maxwell’s Silver Hammer – he knew them all, and not just the chorus.
He is excellent at getting himself into situations that other, more practical, people probably would be able to avoid. Map reading is definitely one of his least developed skills. Ask him where north is and he’ll probably say something like “ummm, which way is the wind coming from?” Other things he has been known to do include dropping his ipod into the bath (he was reaching forward for his watch, forgetting that his headphones were attached to something – and then hearing the ipod slip with a gentle splosh into the water) and window shopping – meaning taking a close look at ladies’ underwear and not realising the shop assistant was standing in the shop window until he looked up and saw her scornful face.
So, there are two gift options for me to choose from: Dual Docking Alarm Clock for iPod and Neuros OSD Media Recorder.
What do you recommend? Any advices will be more then welcome.
Regards, Sara Whook
